Welcome to 2020! We hope your holidays were full of special moments with people who matter (and desserts and cats). We don’t have cats at Groundswell, but we do have a diverse team full of smart and committed people united by our shared values: Trust, Passion, and Teamwork.
2019 was a big year for us at Groundswell, so before we start rocking 2020, let’s take a minute to reflect on some of the special moments we were lucky to share with one another.
We have undergone a lot of growth this year. We opened 2019 by settling into our swanky new office in Downtown Vancouver. We like to keep things flexible around here—with many of us working from home one day a week—but views like this are hard to find and being able to grab lunch with dozens of options only steps away can’t be beaten.
We like innovation. Whether it is with Salesforce or with food, we always want to improve on greatness. We try to keep it healthy with a kitchen stocked full of fruit, nuts, and oatmeal, but sometimes life can’t happen without ice cream. Note the strawberries (because of fruit), and the smile (because of ice cream).
Life at Groundswell is all about balance, whether it’s our genuine support for work-life balance or offsetting ice cream by working on our fitness. We placed 50th out of 127 teams in the Sun Run’s high tech category! Join our team and help us get to the next level in 2020!
We had a couple of Hackathon’s this year, but this one scored them an all-expense-paid trip to TrailheadDX! Our team built a streaming service, a graph database UI, and a fitness app in this 72-hour Hackathon. That’s Ryan (R.K.) in the middle, he started as an intern and has since grown at Groundswell—read more about his experience here.
We’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of what the cloud can do, as well as pushing ourselves. We held 30+ Lunch and Learn’s this year to level up on everything from personal finance to Scratch Org Management.
We’re passionate about giving back, and that’s why we donated a few pints of blood for Canadian Blood Services this year. Want to make an impact as well? Canadian Blood Services are always looking for donations. Find out how to donate blood at blood.ca.
Many companies talk about their values, but building a great culture takes more than talk. Our CEO and founder, Brian, built Groundswell from the ground-up by working our core values into everything we do. We don’t have to write our values on our walls because they shine through every interaction.
We walk the walk when it comes to our values—even if that walk takes us to the top of a mountain! Our events team brings us a steady supply of fun ways to connect with one another, like this late summer hike on the Dog Mountain Trail. We did various hikes this summer including the Grouse Grind.
With 2019 now behind us we’re excited about what 2020 has in store! Keep up with all things Groundswell on our Instagram feed, and if you’re interested in learning more about our culture and our open roles, check out our Careers page.
