At Groundswell, we hold our core values of Trust, Passion, and Teamwork closely, and are leaning on those values to help our team, customers, and our community through these challenging times. We’re based in British Columbia, and while we’re grateful that our public health officials acted decisively to protect BC residents, the restrictions they’ve put in place have changed almost every aspect of our lives. Since mid-March, we’ve been working remotely, and it inspires us to see our team come together and find new ways of working, staying connected, and supporting one another while apart.
The New Normal
Businesses around the world are facing similar challenges. Many are facing layoffs, or have gone remote for the first time and might not have the tools and systems required to keep their teams connected and productive. Employees are worried and doing their best to keep up with their work commitments. As restrictions begin to lift, companies are adapting to yet another new normal where teams might work in shifts or rotate days in the office.
And while we begin to spend more time outside, we’re noticing how our communities have changed. Unemployment and economic anxiety are up, and the organizations that support the least fortunate are strapped for donations while their work is more crucial than ever.
Focusing on the bottom line during times of fluctuation is critical. But uncertainty also presents an opportunity to consider what’s important to us and to let our values lead the way.
Doing Our Part
As a Salesforce consulting partner, we leverage the Salesforce platform to help companies rise above their business challenges. We’re partnering more closely than ever with our customers to deliver the solutions they need to succeed. We’re proud that Salesforce has made its COVID GO business collaboration tools available more widely, and helping organizations on a pro-bono basis to get these tools in place.
As a team, we’re sharing wellness resources and encouraging self-care and more flexible work. As a member of our community, we’ve donated to the United Way and Mom2Mom. In May, we are matching employee donations to other critical charities like the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre, St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, and SPCA. We’re honored that our team’s passion for our community has allowed us to donate more than $12,000 together.
We’re all doing our best to navigate these times and come through them stronger than ever. We’re grateful that we have the opportunity to help our team, customers, and community, and encourage you to let your values guide your way.
