This year’s Dreamforce at San Francisco was one of the best events yet, with an estimated 40,000 attendees and even more joining sessions remotely on the new Salesforce+. Our team of 16 Groundswellers, from management to Engagement and Product leads, had the great opportunity to reconnect with our clients and connect with new contacts for future partnerships.
Groundswell Making Waves at #DF22
Our team started the week by hosting a client breakfast at Leo’s Oyster Bar with many attending, including Slack and Udemy. Each evening we also hosted cocktail parties with over 150 in attendance; we connected with over 200 customers and new connections in the span of 3 days!
This has been an incredible Dreamforce for our team to reconnect with our amazing customers and partners in person. It was an honor to host everyone at our unique venue and those attending our #DF22 speaking sessions. We are very much looking forward to more of these opportunities in 2023!
And this year, the four sessions led by our very own industry experts is something we can’t keep quiet about! If you missed out on our experts’ detailed presentations, you can learn more below:
- Diagramming for Admins by Cameron Reid
- Groundswell Apex Mocking Framework by Leonardo Berardino
- Salesforce Experience Cloud Data Security Rule Book by Savio Jose
- Using Named Credentials with the Apex Wrapper Salesforce Metadata API by Pei Huang
It was truly amazing to be at Dreamforce this year. As a first-time speaker, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. I was very excited to speak as part of the Salesforce Admin Track on how to wow your stakeholders with well-thought-out and well-constructed Diagrams. Can’t wait for next year!
I would like to thank Groundswell and Salesforce for the opportunity of being a first-time presenter at Dreamforce 2022. Our team is proud to announce our GS Apex Mocking Framework as an open-source project.
I am very thankful for the opportunity to be at Dreamforce this year, speaking on a topic that I truly care about, Data Security in Experience Cloud. Thanks to all who could make it to my session on understanding how your site, user, sharing settings, and Apex customizations can impact data access and visibility in Experience Cloud to prevent inadvertently exposing sensitive customer data.
We reunited with old customers, colleagues, partners, new prospects, and Salesforce advocates (and perhaps some future Groundswellers too!) over 3 crazy days of sessions, meals, meetings, and happy hours together. It is always great to hear first-hand the new innovations that Salesforce is launching every Dreamforce, and be able to engage with the Product Managers and experts to get the inside scoop.
Main Dreamforce Announcements
Let’s face it, we all love going to Dreamforce for the swag and the opportunity to hear of all the newest platform updates before everyone else. We put together the top three Salesforce updates that got us all thrilled to work on creative ways to improve our customer project needs.
Salesforce Genie
In-the-moment customer data and real-time insights – yes, please! The announcement of Salesforce Genie has been widely hailed as a new beginning for marketers, sales, and service reps. The beauty of this new platform is the ability to unify all data sources within your organization to create one source of truth and an actual view of all your customers. This means you can genuinely automate processes and get access to relevant data to tailor experiences easily.
Our team is ready to answer questions about implementing and utilizing #SalesforceGenie in your organization.
Migrating to Salesforce Flows
Along with Salesforce Genie, another magical automation upgrade that was a hot topic at Dreamforce 2022 is the migration to Salesforce Flows. Don’t panic, as there is a migration tool, Migrate to Flow, that automatically converts a workflow rule into a flow. You can still activate, deactivate, and edit any existing workflow rules, but moving forward use Flow for your new automations.
This low-code point-and-click tool combines the capabilities of Workflow Rules and Process Builder and also features Flow Library to remove tedious tasks from the way so you can focus on customer delight. You get access to pre-built templates to produce some automation magic across your entire organization. You can also automate and organize multiple workstreams and inter-related automated actions into one streamlined workflow to improve productivity and efficiency.
Contact our team to learn more about these upcoming changes and how to bring any company and organizational structure to the new era of working within a digital HQ environment.
Slack Canvas
If you are already using Slack as one of the leading applications in your organization to connect and collaborate, then you will not get enough of Slack canvas. The new canvases will enhance your productivity by creating a set place to house all the information already available within your Slack workspace data from all your touchpoints within Salesforce. You can now have access to all company knowledge permanently according to your needs – links, videos, and team profiles for a simple onboarding process, or a sales deck with all communication, emails, comments, and project links to easily pass projects between team members.
We’re excited about this great new release coming in 2023!
Favorite Highlights from our Team
Salesforce+
Since the pandemic, work-life has continued to become digitized, which brings Salesforce+, as no surprise – the next-level Dreamforce attendance opportunity. Our team was able to experience the full force of this free, robust streaming service while hosting our customer breakfast and watching the keynote session. Not only that, the rest of our HQ team could watch and listen to all the amazing sessions from the comfort of their own desk. If you missed several sessions you were curious about, you could still catch the biggest announcements and industry-focused content even weeks after #DF22!
Visiting the ‘Ohana Floor
What better way to end our incredible week at #DF22 in San Francisco than by visiting the place where the technical magic happens – the Salesforce tower. We also had the opportunity to have some meetings there this year at Dreamforce, plus a couple of our team were able to enjoy the amazing views and the beautifully designed workspace on the notable and inspiring ‘Ohana floor. It is really the dream office floor we all want to work at every day!
Thanks for an incredible #DF22! We are already getting ready to plan Dreamforce 2023.
