Senior Functional Consultant

As a Salesforce Senior Functional Consultant, your focus is to help build a strong, lasting relationship with our customers by proactively supporting the project team and developing a great understanding of our customers’ business needs. 

  • Lead interactions with the client’s business, technical, and project stakeholders to identify and understand the short and long-term business objectives, while considering internal and external factors
  • Solicit and document requirements, elaborate processes, analyze Salesforce capabilities, and identify solution areas to allow an organization to visualize their future.
  • Lead the creation of user stories, process diagrams, and solution designs for both business and technical audiences.
  • Support the definition of the best-fit solution design and roadmap for enterprise level customers, considering industry and technology trends, platform experience, and other factors.
  • Works with the program / project manager to establish ways of working across teams, including sprint schedules, definitions, cadences, and team structures.
  • Support sales activities by engaging in pre-sales activities, scoping engagements, providing estimates, preparing sales materials, and creating reference architecture diagrams
  • Supports the development and documentation of frameworks and processes that contribute to the Groundswell project methodology.
  • Act as a mentor to junior resources Continually improve your technical skills, consulting skills, management skills, and maintain deep expertise across the Salesforce platform, enterprise architecture, and other applicable technologies

What you bring to be successful

  • Post-secondary education in business or technology-related field
  • Minimum of 4+ years experience as a Functional Consultant, Business Analyst or Product Owner
  • Salesforce Certifications: Administrator, Consulting Family of Certifications highly desired
  • Proficiency and experience with business process definition, best practices, and reengineering
  • Proficiency and experience writing user stories to capture Salesforce requirements
  • Experience with data migrations from third party systems to Salesforce
  • Proficiency across Salesforce declarative development suite
  • Broad experience across multiple Salesforce products (e.g. sales, service, marketing, Einstein analytics, Einstein AI, commerce, MuleSoft etc) with depth in specific clouds
  • Understanding of the key levers for B2B, B2C, hybrid business models
  • Understanding of key concepts of user-centered design and design thinking
  • Sales, marketing or customer service experience having utilized Salesforce technologies as an end user
  • Understanding of basic system and data integration concepts, frameworks and patterns (REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, ESB, point-to-point, named credentials, connected apps and so on)
  • Awareness of enterprise security flows and patterns (OAuth, SAML, SSO, JIT, JWT and so on)
  • Awareness of application lifecycle management and DevOps including industry standard tooling
  • Awareness of quality assurance and industry standard tooling
  • Experience with agile development and methodologies
